The MSP Foundation and Practitioner course is a 5 day course covering both the Foundation and Practitioner syllabus. On the course you will cover the Principles, Governance Themes and Transformational flow processes of the MSP Framework. By the end of the course you will have a detailed understanding of the Framework and have the tools to allow you to manage an MSP programme more effectively. The MSP Foundation exam is taken at the end of day 3 while the Practitioner exam is sat on the morning of day 5.
The MSP Foundation exam tests your knowledge and comprehension of the Framework. The Foundation exam is a 75 question multiple choice paper. To pass the paper you need to score 38 out of 75 (50%). The exam is closed book so you are not allowed to use any materials to complete the paper.
The MSP Practitioner exam tests your application and analysis of PRINCE2. The exam is a 2.5 hour multiple choice paper. In the exam there are 8 questions each based on an MSP syllabus area. Each question is worth 10 marks giving a possible of 80 marks to be achieved in the exam. The pass mark is 40 marks (50%). The exam is open book although it is only the official MSP manual you are allowed to use during the exam.
The exam is based on a programme scenario and you have to show you can analysis and apply MSP in that scenario. By passing the Practitioner exam you will show that you not only have a good knowledge of MSP but that you can also apply the framework in a programme environment.
The MSP Practitioner course is ideally for individuals who are currently performing a Programme Manager’s role or who would like to move into a such a role in the future.
